Baillie Gifford Pacific Fund
The Baillie Gifford Paci昀椀c Fund (“BG Paci昀椀c”) is an active growth-driven
investment fund investing across Asia-Paci昀椀c equity markets excluding
Japan. Baillie Gifford, which remains privately owned by its Partners,
has been managing Asian equities since 1989, and the two experienced
co-Portfolio Managers, Roderick Snell and Ben Durrant, are supported
by a team of nine in Edinburgh as well as a China-based research team.

The strategy is co-managed by Roderick Snell
(19 years’ experience) and Ben Durrant (13
years’ experience). They are supported by a
team of nine Emerging Market specialists in
Edinburgh, a number of whom have well in
excess of 20 years’ investment experience.
They are further supported by a dedicated
China equities research team based in
Shanghai. We like that the team is paid based
on long-term performance, encouraging them
to focus on longer-term growth investing,
which is aligned with their investment style.

Team experience:
Roderick Snell has been at Baillie Gifford for
his entire investment career, moving into the
Emerging Markets equity team in 2008 and
becoming a partner in 2023. He has managed
the BG Paci昀椀c Fund since 2010. Ben Durrant
has been co-managing the BG Paci昀椀c Fund
with Roderick since 2021. Ben joined Baillie
Gifford in 2017, having previously worked in
corporate 昀椀nance at RBS. As noted above,
they are supported by a dedicated team in
Edinburgh and Shanghai, with many of those
team members having worked together for
over 15 years.
